Would you like to transform your boring nature strip into a garden of buzzing, wriggling beauty?
Would you like to be a part of the Melbourne Pollinator Corridor?
Would you like help with resources and ongoing support for your nature strip?
If your answers are a resounding “YES!” then read on!
We have 35 Corridor Kits, each worth about $500, to give to locals who live in the Melbourne Pollinator Corridor zone and would like to create and manage their own MPC garden.
We have spent years pulling these kits together and now are very excited to give them to the MPC locals who want to create positive change in their neighbourhood, help local biodiversity and connect to their community.
In addition to the kit itself, being a part of this group allows you access to larger tools, knowledge, support and ongoing resources.
When you receive a Corridor Kit, you become part of a wonderful group of locals who manage their own MPC gardens.
To be eligible:
The nature strip must be in the MPC zone (see map below).
You must not be planning to move or majorly renovate in the next 6 months.
You must be able to create the garden within approximately 6 months of receiving the Corridor Kit.
You must be able to look after the garden.
Applications are always open to the right people with the right patches…until our kits run out of course!

Corridor Kits are available to anyone with an appropriate patch of public or public/private land in the Melbourne Pollinator Corridor zone who also is keen to help your local biodiversity and learn about street gardening.
You could be a resident working by yourself or with others, a business, school, kindergarten, organisation etc.
One thing - if you have plans to move or carry out major renovations please don’t apply!

We have put these kits together to give your MPC street gardening journey the best possible chance at success.
Each kit contains (practically) everything that is needed to create a garden of the MPC - of course we can’t add your enthusiasm and care!
Each kit includes:
plant voucher
nursery voucher
hand tools
gardening bag
a copy of Emma’s book Melbourne Pollinator Corridor Handbook
Seasol
In addition to this kit (the content of which you can keep), you also have access to bigger tools and, after you have a rough idea of your design, you can organise a short on-site consultation with Emma.

1- Make sure you are eligible.
2- Fill out the application form.
3- We will assess if the site is a) in the MPC zone b) an appropriate site for an MPC garden.
4- We will email everyone who applies, successful or not, and arrange a quick phone chat with successful applicants.
5- Successful applicants will receive their kits and sign an agreement that says you will complete the garden within 6 months, take care of the garden and reach out if help is required to keep the site healthy and continuing to grow.

We realise you might need extra support at certain times in your MPC street gardening journey and are happy to provide support where we can.
However, please be aware that we are a small charity that punches well above our weight and, though we will do as much as we can to help you, we are expecting you to help as much as you can too!
